– The exhibition goes on until July 8th and the pieces are for sale.
This year’s 48 Stunden Neukölln theme is SHADOWS.
Shadows need LIGHT to exist. And this is what we are concentrating on.
We invited two female Berlin based artists to ehxibit their works in our Studio. Both work in different fields, but for both colour and light is their main raw material, as probably also shadows….
Eli Cornejo (1981, Argentina) works in the fields of photography (analog mainly) and collage; lives in Berlin (Germany).
She graduated as an economist in the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) where she started with her specialization in Cultural Management. Since 2008 she has been fully dedicated to
Photography. She has been a resident at The Pajama Factory (USA) and ( ) Parenthesis Space Parenthesis (France-Slovenia-Germany).
Her work has been shown in different galleries in Europe such as in Wolterholme Projects (Liverpool, UK), Stattberlin (Berlin, Germany), Hilbert Raum (Berlin, Germany, Bricks Gallery (Hamburg, Germany), Fiebre Galeria (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Rare Tempo (Denver, USA) and MMCA (Barcelona, Spain).
Since 2014, she has been working in the non-profit project “The Berta ART Raffle”, as co-creator, curator and producer. The same year she founded the Photo Club and photography event “Photo Critique Day”.
From 2016 on, is member of HilbertRaum, an independent, non-commercial, artist-run project space in Berlin, Germany.
For Studio Herzberg she will be presented the on-going serie-analog photography- “Smile Happens”, exhibited in Hamburg, Germany and in Denver, Colorado-USA. Shit happens is a common vulgar slang phrase, used as a simple existential observation that life is full of unpredictable events, either “Así es la vida” or “C’est la vie”. The phrase is an acknowledgment that bad things happen to people seemingly for no particular reason. SMILE also HAPPENS.
Dácil Granados (Gran Canaria, 1976) studied Fine Arts and after graduating she began doctoral courses in Art Theory at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife/Spain). She then moved to Madrid, where she completed her education with a Master’s Degree in mounting exhibitions at the Complutense University.
During her career, she has held many individual and collective exhibitions in places and events like: Glogauair (Berlin), Kreas VZW Gallery (Belgium), International Art Exhibition of Lanzarote, Dakar Bienniale (Senegal), La Regenta (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and SAC (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Carmen de la Guerra Gallery (Madrid) or Estampa International Art Fair (Madrid).
As curator, she has worked on the collective exhibition: La Mirada con Rímel at Espacio Canarias de Creación y Cultura (Madrid) or the selection of works for the project Explosión Plástica Inevitable I y II in various galleries in Madrid.
In Berlin, she works as a guide at the Pergamonmuseum and the Neues Museum. She also writes about music, museums and exhibitions onberlinamateurs.com and holaberlin.com.
In her small sample in 48 Stunden Neukölln she exposes her last collages, technique that has been using for several years. This is a series that uses cuts of pornographic magazines and erotic art mixed and assembled with Japanese paper and graphite pencil. The series titled “In-Out” aims to be a look that explores the various ways in which we imagine and think about sex and our bodies.

impromptu music dance dinner party – February 22, 2017
Studio Hertzberg warmly welcomes Pepe Dayaw from Nowhere Kitchen to perform his magic with an improvised dinner made of leftover ingredients, from us at the studio as well as from anyone that feels inclined to bring whatever is kicking around in the fridge!
This project basically translates some of our fashion philosophies concerning waste reduction and reusing materials, so we couldn’t be more excited.
If that wasn’t enough already, there will be an amplified musical sewing machine and some dance interaction from the same guy that will be serving us dinner!
Wednesday February 22
If you would like to contribute leftover food you can also bring them by the studio Tuesday or Wednesday from 13:00 till 19:00.
Food and sound will be served on a donation basis.
Support your local art scene!
On now until end of august!
Opening Reception on September 25. 2015 with Neukölln mayoress Dr. Franziska Giffey
