Mirja Mauno was founded by Finnish/English designer Hanna Mason. and strives to create fun and lovingly designed high quality textiles that in some way enhance your day to day living. Mirja Mauno is inspired by the ever changing and bewitching Finnish landscape, folk art, Scandinavian design, national costume and joy. The name is taken from Hanna’s Finnish grandparents who always have been and continue to be a source of inspiration for Hanna. All Mirja Mauno textiles are locally and ethically produced in the Neukölln district of Berlin, a stone throw from Hanna’s shop and atelier.
design your own fabric with mirjamauno fabric design workshop hosted by inhouse textile desiner mirjamauno. this sunday afternoon workshop enables you to understand how pattern repeats work and to put this knowledge directly into practice. Hanna will guide you through the process of designing your own repeating motif using materials provided. You will also receive plenty of visual references in order to stimulate your creativity. It is up to you if you desire to paint by hand or work digitally, . At the end of the course, you will be provided with a promo code for a local digital textile printer where you can print your wonderful creations for free!
about HANNA Hanna is an English/Finnish textile designer and her passion for textiles began whilst working in the knit design industry and lead to her setting up her own surface print label Mirjamauno. hanna has worked as a textile designer in london, helsinki and berlin. Mirjamauno textiles are locally and ethically produced in the Neukölln district of Berlin, a stone’s throw from Hanna’s shop and atelier where she also holds her fabric design workshops.
