ARE YOU UNSURE IF IT FITS?

Our pieces are generously cut. If you are between two sizes – go for the smaller one. Important information: Our trouser cuts are perfect for hourglass body types. All other parts are suitable for all body shapes. We did this because our founder always had trouble finding pants that fit wider hips and smaller waists. So hourglass ladies, we have the perfect pants for you 🙂

In addition to our size table to determine your clothing size, you will find some important measurements to determine the right size in each item description. If you have any questions about the fit or need additional measurements, we are available to you at any time by email at team@studiohertzberg.de or. We would be happy to help you make the right selection before you place your order.

  1. Chest circumference: Measured horizontally around the body over the fullest part of the chest
  2. Waist circumference: Measured around the narrowest part of the body
  3. Hip circumference: Measured horizontally around the widest part of the hip

How can you process a return if you come from Germany?

Simply send the package, preferably insured, back to us in Berlin.

Since we are still at the very beginning of our journey, we cannot yet offer free returns. But that will change in the near future.

Once we have received and checked the package, the money will be refunded. Please note that this process can take up to two weeks.

Waschanleitung

The following applies to all clothing items:
Wash as little as possible - protects the environment and the garment!

How do I care for my Tencel garment?

It's best to use a black detergent or a detergent specifically suitable for Tencel, as most color detergents contain bleach. Wash cold is best!

Wash the Tencel clothing inside out on a delicate cycle without spinning and remove it from the washing machine immediately after washing and hang it to dry on a hanger.

Do not rub, brush or wring the garment. For pinpoint stains, please use degreasing agents, SIL or Fleckenteufel, let them soak briefly and then wash as described above!

Iron at level 1.

Produktion in Europa

GERMANY

Our headquarters are in Berlin and this is where we construct our patterns, sew the first prototypes and produce small mini-series.
We design, model and test our models, fabrics and processing techniques. If we are happy with everything, small series go out to our Berlin tailors or larger orders go to Portugal or Poland.

We also ship everything from our Berlin studio directly to you!

POLAND

In Poland - Stargard - we work with a small family that generates income for five employees. Stargard is a great location for us as it can be reached from Berlin in just 2 hours. This means we have short journeys and a fast and flexible way of working. The small family produces below the normal minimum quantities for us and therefore helps us a lot to be able to offer a good selection of clothing and colors right from the start.

PORTUGAL

In the beautiful north of Portugal we found reliable and very professional partners who were willing to work with us on smaller production quantities. We are very happy about this great collaboration that we started at the Modtissiomo trade fair in Porto 2019. The company is Lenzing approved and, like us, is always looking for the most sustainable materials and the best processing techniques. The north of Portugal is totally dedicated to the clothing industry. Many people, especially women, find work as seamstresses in numerous companies and can therefore make a living.

Nachhaltige Stoffe

TENCEL/LYOCELL

Lyocell consists of cellulose, which is obtained from eucalyptus. Eucalyptus grows very quickly and does not require pesticides or special irrigation

The manufacturing process allows the solvents to be reused, which means water consumption remains relatively low.

Lyocell is breathable, resistant and absorbs water better than cotton

It is naturally biodegradable (100% within 16 weeks)

Lyocell consists of cellulose which is obtained from eucalyptus. Eucalyptus grows very quickly and does not require pesticides or artificial irrigation. Lyocell/Tencel is a natural chemical fiber, which means that it is produced using a chemical process, but the end product is natural and contains no chemical traces.

This special manufacturing process can save a lot of water because the solvents can be almost completely recycled. Because all chemical substances are removed during production, Lyocell is also biodegradable and can be composted up to 100% within 16 weeks. Lyocell is very breathable and resistant, extremely skin-friendly and absorbs water easily.

organic cotton

ORGANIC COTTON

43% of clothing is made from cotton, which is grown in around 80 countries. Cotton has a huge impact on our environment. In order to guarantee the high demand for it, a lot of pesticides and poisons have to be used during cultivation, which are often also found in the finished garment. As a result, a lot of resistance develops and genetic diversity is lost. Farmers are made financially dependent on large chemical companies such as BASF and Bayer. But as climate change brings with it more and more droughts and floods, the hoped-for large harvest is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve. Every year, tens of thousands of farmers in India commit suicide because they cannot pay the debts they incurred for fertilizers and pesticides and see no way out of their dependent situation. Often their children or children who work in the fields become very sick from the poisons and die earlier.

Organically grown cotton, on the other hand, not only protects the earth, but also the farmer. By following the usual crop rotation and avoiding monocultures, not only is there more organic matter in the soil, but it also frees small farmers from their dependence on a single product. Thanks to the fertile soil, organic cotton also requires 94% less water than conventionally grown cotton, which requires almost 10,000 liters for one kilogram (equivalent to approximately one pair of jeans). When growing organic cotton, the use of pesticides and poisons is prohibited, which not only protects our environment but also the farmers who carefully pick the cotton.

Genetically modified cotton (GMB)

  • requires approx. 10,000 liters of water/kg
  • The strong monoculture leads to a loss of genetic diversity and the development of resistance
  • GMB is one of the plants treated with the most chemical pesticides and accounts for approximately 20% of global pesticide use. This endangers biodiversity and poisons the soil. These pesticides usually end up on your clothing

Organic cotton (BB)

  • Due to the usual crop rotation when growing organic cotton, there is more organic matter in the soil and can store water better.
  • The water consumption is around 91% lower than with conventional cotton, and stored rainwater is usually used when growing BB.
  • the use of pesticides is prohibited at BB
  • The farmers receive better wages when growing organic cotton and are also more independent due to the changing cultivation and have better health

RPET

Plastic is omnipresent, not only in bottles, bags or straws but also and especially in our clothing. Almost 50% of our clothing is made of polyester, i.e. PET, which is made from petroleum. That's enough to fill 4,452 Olympic swimming pools every year.

To recycle PET, it is melted down and then spun into new polyester fibers. Just 5 PET bottles are enough to make a new T-shirt. This can prevent a large amount of PET from ending up in the trash or in the ocean. The decision to use recycled polyester helps reduce CO 2 emissions by 32% and protect the oceans from plastic pollution.

We will take care of shipping for you within Germany.

You can find the shipping costs to all other countries on the “Shipping & Returns” page linked above.

I bought something from you in retail and would like to complain about it. What can I do?

Unfortunately, we cannot process your complaint directly in this case.

In the event of a defect in an item, your contact person is always your contractual partner when completing the purchase, as the dealer was the owner of the goods before you received them. Accordingly, only he can actually assess the item's condition before sale and realistically handle your complaint.

The dealer also has customer support with us, whom he can then contact regarding your complaint. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Can I exchange a part?

Unfortunately, the “exchange” only works through a new order. Simply return it and place a new new order. We'll do the rest!

Where is my order?

You can track your order via shipment tracking once it has been shipped. You can find the tracking link with the tracking number in your shipping confirmation.

If you haven't received a shipping confirmation or your order status is "open", then simply contact us. We are glad to help you!

The average delivery time is 2-5 business days.

Are refunds free?

Returns are not yet free for us because, as a young label, we cannot yet provide this service.

But in the foreseeable future we would also like to offer you this service. Please send the goods back to us undamaged and preferably insured. If an uninsured package is lost, we assume no liability.

How and when will the refund be made?

As a rule, the refund will be made to the account used for payment within 14 days of receipt of the return.

What materials do you use?

For us it is a matter of course to use ecological materials.
It's not a question of whether, but rather how?

We see ourselves as part of this planet and have a great responsibility with our actions, especially in the production of clothing.

We consistently use circular, sustainable & environmentally friendly materials.

Here we have listed the materials we use.

  • Cotton from controlled organic cultivation (kbA and GOTS)
  • Recycled & circular cotton
  • Regenerated fibers from Lenzing (LENZING™ ECOVERO™, TENCEL™ Lyocell, etc.)
  • Recycled synthetic fibers (rPET)

You can find more information about the individual fibers on our page about sustainable fabrics .

Do you want to know why we are environmentally friendly?

In our entire production chain, the use of genetic engineering, pesticides and toxic chemicals, which then end up in our waters, is prohibited.

That's why we only use sustainable and environmentally friendly materials because we want to offer a beautiful, valuable alternative to fast fashion.

Since the quality, durability and sustainability of the materials we use are very important to us, we only work with certified yarn and fabric manufacturers.

We stick to our values in all phases of production

  • 100% free from toxic chemicals
  • 100% sustainable production facilities
  • 100% timeless design

More about our values .

Where do you produce?

At the moment we produce most of our collections in Portugal, Poland and Germany. Production in Europe enables us to produce more flexibly and save CO2. Some parts are also sewn on site in Berlin.

We are not certified as a label because not all of our production facilities are certified. These are small family businesses that cannot afford certification, which costs a lot of money every year. We don't want to change these companies that have been very accommodating to us from the start and we work on a good basis of trust with insight into the production processes.

The bigger we become as a brand, the greater the influence that a company can have on working and environmental conditions. That's why let's change the fashion industry together. Every customer and every purchase contributes a large part to this. Together we are strong.

You can find out more about our production companies on the page about our fair production .
